Significance of Tests in the Male Infertility Package

Reproductive and Thyroid Hormones

  • Total Testosterone & LH: LH interpreted with testosterone helps distinguish whether a low-testosterone pattern is more consistent with testicular dysfunction or a hypothalamic-pituitary cause.
  • FSH: Follicle Stimulating Hormone controls sperm production and is included in male reproductive hormone assessment.
  • TSH Ultrasensitive: Thyroid disorders can affect metabolism, energy, sexual health, and reproductive function.

Complete Hemogram

The Complete Hemogram profile reports hemoglobin, red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, differential counts, and red-cell and platelet indices.

It helps identify blood-count changes such as anemia, altered white blood cell counts, or platelet abnormalities alongside the hormone tests.

FAQs on the Male Infertility Hormone Test

Does this package include a sperm count test?
No. This is a blood test package that measures the hormones responsible for sperm production (like FSH, LH, and Testosterone). It does not include a semen analysis, which requires a fresh sample to be analyzed under a microscope immediately at a clinic.
Why is a Complete Hemogram (CBC) included in a fertility package?
The 30-parameter Complete Hemogram reports hemoglobin, red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, differential counts, and related indices. It shows whether blood-count abnormalities are present alongside the reproductive and thyroid hormone results.
How is this package different from a female reproductive hormone panel?
LH, FSH, and TSH are common to both male and female reproductive hormone panels. This male package also includes Total Testosterone and Complete Hemogram. Basic female reproductive hormone panels include PRL and AMH tests, while advanced panels can also include DHEAS, Cortisol, Estradiol, and other steroid hormones.
