During the 16th -21st weeks of your pregnancy, your gynecologist may advise you to go through the triple marker panel tests. The tests in the profile can help your doctor to determine if your unborn baby is undergoing a healthy development in your owmb. The blood test in correlation with your pregnancy history and ultrasonography (USG) report can detect abnormalities, if any, in the unborn child. Mainly, the panel of tests aims at finding out chromosomal disorders, if any. This can help you in safe and healthy childbirth.
Triple Markers, mainly, comprise three blood tests. They are – Unconjucated Estriol (E3), Alpha Feto Protein (AFP), and Beta HCG. In correlation with your USG report and other clinical histories, a sophisticated diagnosis system determines three risk factors associated with chromosomal and other disorders. They are – Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), Trisomy 18 (Edward Syndrom) and Open Neural Cord Disorder.
For the triple Marker Panel Tests, first, you need to go through an Ultrasound (USG) scanning. After you get the report of the USG scan, you may either visit an advanced pathology center or ask them to visit your home for blood sample collection.
